20 children dead after mass shooting at Connecticut elementary school

A 20-year-old man shot and killed 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut on Friday. 20 of them were children.

Adam Lanza, identified as the gunman, committed suicide. It is believed that he also shot his mother, Nacy Lanza, who worked at the school, and then drove her car to the school and used her guns.

“As a country, we have been through this too many times,” said President Barack Obama as he addressed the Nation Friday following the shooting. ”Whether it’s an elementary school in Newtown, or a shopping mall in Oregon, or a temple in Wisconsin, or a movie theater in Aurora, or a street corner in Chicago — these neighborhoods are our neighborhoods, and these children are our children.  And we’re going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics.”

This was a really good way to get news through us to people. I think it was well handled.
