I-Comm is the home of the Scroll, I~News and the Agency. “It [I-Comm] is a student-managed program modeled after industry practices common in advertising, public relations, videography, web development, photography, graphic design and journalism companies,” according to www.byuicomm.net.
The I-Comm website has two focuses: the agency program and the journalism program.
The agency program covers advertising, public relations, and design aspects of the communications field.
The journalism program includes Scroll, I~News and video productions. The agency and both journalism programs deal with real clients.
“The website is a place for students to showcase their work. It is a place for alumni and future employers to see what students are working on and what is going on at BYU-Idaho,” said Brother John Thompson, the I-Comm general manager. The I-Comm website is used to help promote the work that students do.
I-Comm also provides a place for BYU-Idaho students to access information. With the Scroll newspaper, and the I~News program, students can access news about BYU-Idaho online. I~News is an online newscast that is made by BYU-I students. It comes out weekly and is available on byuicomm.net. There are Spanish newscasts, as well as English newscasts.
Latter-day Profiles, a show on BYUtv, is also featured online at www.byuicomm.net. Latter-day Profiles is “produced by BYU-I, this series features interviews and spotlights on prominent members of the LDS community. Including BYU-Idaho president, Kim B. Clark, author Jack Weyland and many more,” according
to www.byutv.org.
Hi there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site? I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
