With the power outage, students were able to retreat to the BYU-Idaho Center for warmth and shelter.

Yeah, that was a pretty serious power outage, especially since it was during the winter. It left about 14,000 people without power, I wonder what the cause of the outage was to be that severe

The outage put tons of people behind schedule, but I heard the one on campus was separate from the one in Rexburg..that campus has separate power lines or something. I don’t know if that is true.

That day was so cold. I was wondering how email could be updated when there was no power?

I know at least with me the power took till 11am to come on at The Pines and the internet connection didn’t work till the evening. I had no idea about the power outage till my phone started vibrating from all the texts I was getting about it. I have been going to this university for years and I have never seen all university classes cancelled. That was a cold day too! My car battery froze on top of that. This day was definitely a day to remember.

I’m glad BYU-I has a great communication system that lets students know what’s going on.
